Dupli-Color Paint Chart PDF 2026: Official Part Number Guide
The official Dupli-Color paint chart PDF is the 2021 Classic Selector Guide (Canada). How to turn your paint code into a Perfect Match or Scratch Fix number.
Short answer: Dupli-Color's paint chart is a lookup table that turns your vehicle's factory paint code into a Dupli-Color part number. The official PDF version linked from duplicolor.com today is the 2021 Dupli-Color Classic Selector Guide for Canada (44 pages), which covers 2020 back to 2010-and-earlier models. In the United States, duplicolor.com offers an online color finder instead, and we found no US PDF guide linked on the site. Either way, the method is the same: find the paint code on your vehicle's label, find your make and year in the chart, and read the part number for the product you want. Example: Ford code YZ, Oxford White, is listed as Perfect Match BFM0229 and Scratch Fix All-in-1 AFM0229 on duplicolor.com.
Everything below comes from Dupli-Color's own documents, all read on October 31, 2026: the Perfect Match, Scratch Fix All-in-1, Universal Touch Up and Scratch Seal product pages on duplicolor.com (including their data sheet tables), the 2021 Classic Selector Guide for Canada, and Dupli-Color's 2024 Canadian catalogue. We also read an older Dupli-Color guide that a retailer still hosts, and the European Aerosols pages that explain why a second, unrelated "Dupli-Color" chart turns up in search results. We did not buy or test any paint. Where the official documents disagree with each other, we say so rather than picking one.
Dupli-Color paint chart: common colors and their part numbers
This is a sample of popular colors, not the full chart. Each paint code and Canadian part number is copied from the 2021 Classic Selector Guide (2020 model year rows unless noted). The US numbers are copied from the data sheet tables on duplicolor.com, where the same color name appears. A dash means that source does not list the color for that product.

Sources: Dupli-Color 2021 Classic Selector Guide (Canada), 2020 rows unless noted; duplicolor.com Perfect Match and Scratch Fix All-in-1 data sheet tables. All read October 31, 2026. US color names can be written slightly differently (e.g. "Magnetic Gray," "Ingot Silver Metallic"). Confirm your code and the color name before ordering.
Two things stand out even in this short sample. First, a single chart line often carries more than one paint code. Ford's YO, YZ and Z1 are all Oxford White with one part number, and Chrysler's AXR and PXR both point to Brilliant Black Pearl. Second, not every color comes in every product. In the Canadian guide, Honda's Crystal Black Pearl (NH731P) has a Scratch Fix number but no Perfect Match number, while duplicolor.com lists a Perfect Match can for it (BHA1007). Check the product you actually want, in the edition that applies to where you shop.

The Canadian Classic Selector Guide is the closest thing to a current, official Dupli-Color paint chart in PDF form. Dupli-Color's home page describes it this way: "Download the Color Selector Guide below to look up your Color Code or Year, Make, Model to see the available colors." It is hosted on Sherwin-Williams' document server and opens in a browser viewer, from which it can be downloaded. The guide is dated 2021 and its newest rows are for 2020 models, so it will not list colors introduced after that.
For US shoppers, duplicolor.com offers a vehicle color finder on its Automotive Touch-Up page rather than a downloadable US guide. We did not find a US selector guide PDF linked anywhere on duplicolor.com when we checked on October 31, 2026. The US product pages do carry something nearly as useful: a data sheet table listing every product number, UPC, size and color name for that product line. Those tables are where the US numbers in this article come from.
Avoid any "Dupli Color Paint Chart PDF" link hosted on a site that has nothing to do with paint. One result we checked, on a university subdomain, only displayed a notice that it was redirecting to an unrelated book download site. An outdated or fake chart is worse than none, because it can give you a confident wrong part number.
How to read a Dupli-Color paint chart, step by step
The Canadian guide is organized into two color-coded sections, and its cover tells you which one to start with. If you don't know your code, start in the red section ("Learn how to locate your vehicle's colour code in the red section starting on page 3"). If you do, go straight to the yellow section ("Use your colour code to find the Dupli-Color® part number in the yellow section for an exact colour match, starting on page 15").
- Find your paint code on the vehicle. Dupli-Color's site explains that "each vehicle manufacturer indicates an exterior paint color on the vehicle identification tag" and that "the location of the tag varies by model year and by vehicle manufacturer." The red section of the guide shows diagrams of likely tag positions by maker, for example the driver door edge and the driver "B" pillar on Fords. If you can't find yours, our paint code location guide by make lists where each brand usually puts it. Dupli-Color's own advice is: "If you have trouble locating your paint code, contact your local dealership."
- Turn to your manufacturer's pages. The yellow section has its own manufacturer index. Related brands share pages: Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Plymouth are together, Ford, Lincoln and Mercury are together, and General Motors brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Saturn) are together. Toyota, Lexus and Scion share a section, as do Nissan and Infiniti, and Honda and Acura.
- Find your model year. Each page is split by year, newest first. Older years are grouped at the end under headings such as "2010 & Previous."
- Match the code, not the name. Find your exact code in the COLOUR CODE column. Names are printed for reference, but the same name can belong to different codes, and some names are shortened or written differently in different documents.
- Read across to the product column. The "8 OZ. PERFECT MATCH®" column gives the aerosol can number. The "SCRATCH FIX® ALL-IN-1™" column gives the touch-up pen number. An empty cell means that product is not offered in that color in that edition.
- Check the Basic Items block. Each manufacturer section starts with the same short list: Filler/Primer-Grey, Universal White, Universal Black, Universal Flat Black, Clear Top Coat and Universal Black (M). These are the primer, clear and universal colors that go with the exact-match paints.
The extra WA # column on GM pages
General Motors pages have one more column, headed WA #. On those pages a color line shows both a short code and a WA number. Olympic White, for example, is listed as code 50 with WA # 8624, and Arctic White as code 10 with WA # 9567. Dupli-Color's older guide explains the column: "WA No." is "Part of the car Manufacturer's Color Code for General Motors vehicles only." If your GM label shows a WA number, use it to confirm you have the right line.
What the (M) and the multiple codes mean
Many color names in the guide end in "(M)", as in "Ingot Silver (M)" or "Galaxy Silver (M)", and the Basic Items list includes "Univ. Black (M)" next to plain "Univ. Black". On the US Perfect Match data sheet, the matching universal black cans are listed with separate finishes: BUN0100 as Gloss, BUN0104 as Flat and BUN0090 as Metallic. That is consistent with (M) marking a metallic color, but the guide itself does not print a legend for it, so treat it as a label rather than a specification. When a line lists several codes separated by commas, such as "YO,YZ,Z1" for Oxford White or "AXR, PXR" for Brilliant Black Pearl, any of those codes on your label leads to the same part number.
What Dupli-Color part number prefixes mean
Dupli-Color part numbers are built from a product prefix, a two-letter maker code and a four-digit color number. The 2024 Canadian catalogue spells out the maker codes for Perfect Match: "CBCC – Chrysler Exact-Match Colours," "CBFM – Ford Exact-Match Colours," "CBGM – General Motors Exact-Match Colours," and so on through Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Toyota and Volkswagen.
| Number part | Example | What it means | Where it is printed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product prefix (Canada) | CBFM0229 | Perfect Match 227 g / 8 oz aerosol (Canadian numbering) | 2024 Canadian catalogue; Canadian guide "8 OZ. PERFECT MATCH" column |
| Product prefix (Canada) | CAFM0229 | Scratch Fix All-in-1 pen (Canadian numbering) | Canadian guide "SCRATCH FIX ALL-IN-1" column |
| Product prefix (US) | BFM0229 / AFM0229 | Perfect Match numbers start with B; Scratch Fix All-in-1 numbers start with A | duplicolor.com data sheet tables |
| Maker code | CBCC, CBFM, CBGM | CC Chrysler, FM Ford, GM General Motors, HA Honda, HY Hyundai, KA Kia, NS Nissan, MZ Mazda, SU Subaru, TY Toyota, VW Volkswagen | 2024 Canadian catalogue |
| Universal and basics | CBUN0100, CBPR0031, CBCL0125 | UN universal colors (e.g. Universal Gloss Black), PR primer (Scratch Filler), CL clear (Clear Topcoat) | 2024 Canadian catalogue; Basic Items in the guide |
| Pen universals | CASF0100 / ASF0100 | Scratch Fix universal colors (e.g. Universal Black) | Canadian guide Basic Items; US Scratch Fix data sheet |
| Color number | CBFM0229 | The color within that maker (0229 = Oxford White) | All listings |
Prefix meanings for Canada are quoted from Dupli-Color's 2024 Canadian catalogue. US prefixes are what the US data sheets show; Dupli-Color does not publish a separate US prefix legend that we found.
On the US site, the same two-letter maker codes appear after a single product letter. All 192 Perfect Match numbers on the US data sheet start with B (BFM for Ford colors, BCC for Chrysler, BGM for GM and so on), and all 159 Scratch Fix All-in-1 numbers start with A. In the Canadian guide, the equivalent columns use CB and CA. The four-digit color number is usually the same across all of these for a given color. Oxford White is 0229 in BFM0229, AFM0229, CBFM0229 and CAFM0229.
That "usually" matters. The next section shows several places where Dupli-Color's own listings break the pattern, which is why you should copy a part number from an official listing rather than build one yourself by swapping prefixes.
How many colors Dupli-Color lists, by make
We counted every row in the data sheet tables on the US Perfect Match and Scratch Fix All-in-1 product pages on October 31, 2026. GM and Ford colors make up the largest share of both lines. Import makers other than Toyota, Honda and Nissan have only a handful of colors each.

| Maker code | Make | Perfect Match SKUs (US) | Scratch Fix All-in-1 SKUs (US) |
|---|---|---|---|
| GM | General Motors | 49 | 40 |
| FM | Ford | 41 | 32 |
| TY | Toyota | 27 | 23 |
| CC | Chrysler | 23 | 15 |
| HA | Honda | 20 | 23 |
| NS | Nissan | 12 | 10 |
| VW | Volkswagen | 5 | 4 |
| HY | Hyundai | 3 | 4 |
| KA | Kia | 2 | 1 |
| MZ | Mazda | 2 | 1 |
| SU | Subaru | 1 | 3 |
| UN / SF | Universal colors | 6 | 3 |
| CL | Clear | 1 | – |
| Total | 192 | 159 |
Counted from the data sheet tables on duplicolor.com's Perfect Match and Scratch Fix All-in-1 product pages, read October 31, 2026. Special-order Scratch Fix colors are not included.
These counts are the standard lineup on the product pages. Dupli-Color also runs a special-order program for the pen: "More exact-match touch-up colors are now available via our special-order program," the touch-up category page says, ordered through local automotive retailers. So a color missing from the table above is not necessarily unavailable. It may be a special order.
Dupli-Color touch-up products in the chart, compared
The chart columns correspond to different products. The right one depends on the size of the damage and how you plan to apply the paint. Specifications below are as printed by Dupli-Color.
| Product | Chart column | Size (US / Canada) | Finishes listed | Coats and recoat (US page) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Perfect Match Premium Automotive Paint | 8 OZ. PERFECT MATCH | 8 oz / 227 g aerosol | Gloss, Satin, Metallic, Flat | Recommended coats "3, 4"; 10 minutes between coats; coverage 10 to 12 ft² per can | Larger touch-ups and vehicle accessories |
| Scratch Fix All-in-1 Touch Up Paint | SCRATCH FIX ALL-IN-1 | 0.50 fl oz / 15 mL pen | Gloss, Flat | Recommended coats "1, 2"; 30 minutes before recoating | Nicks, chips and scratches; includes clear coat |
| Universal Touch Up Pen | Not in the chart | 0.50 fl oz pen | Gloss, Semi-Gloss | Recommended coats "1, 2"; 30 minutes before recoating | Non-exact colors; 9 listed versions |
| Scratch Seal Clear Sealer Pen | Not in the chart | 0.4 fl oz pen (SFSS100) | Clear | — | Sealing a scratch until it can be painted |
Sources: duplicolor.com product pages and Dupli-Color 2024 Canadian catalogue, read October 31, 2026. Paint type for all three colored products is listed as lacquer.
In short, the pen is for chips and scratches, and the aerosol is for larger touch-ups and accessories. Dupli-Color describes Perfect Match as "ideal for both small scale vehicle touch-up and for painting vehicle accessories," and the Scratch Fix tool as having a "pen tip for fine scratches" and a "brush end for larger chips." For how size and format affect the choice in general, our guide on how to order touch-up paint by code goes through pens, bottles, aerosols and larger quantities.
Worked examples: reading the chart for real cars
These examples follow the chart exactly as printed. They show the lookup method, not a promise that the paint will match an older or resprayed panel.
Example 1: Ford with code YZ on the door label
Go to the Ford pages (Ford 2020-2015). In the 2020 rows, "YO,YZ,Z1" is Oxford White, with Perfect Match CBFM0229 and Scratch Fix CAFM0229 in the Canadian guide. On duplicolor.com, the US data sheets list BFM0229 and AFM0229 as Oxford White. The same line appears in every Ford year in the guide, from 2020 back to the "2010 & Previous" group, so the lookup is the same for any Ford in that range with one of these codes.
Example 2: Toyota with code 1F7
In the Toyota/Lexus/Scion section, 1F7 is Classic Silver Mica: CBTY1617 and CATY1617 in the Canadian guide, BTY1617 and ATY1617 on the US site. Note how close it sits to other silvers in the same table: 1C0 Millennium Silver (M) and 1E7 Silver Streak Mica (M) appear in the 2017 rows. Picking by name or by a swatch on screen is how people end up with the wrong silver. Picking by the three-character code avoids that.
Example 3: Chevrolet with code 50 and WA 8624
On the GM pages, code 50 / WA # 8624 is Olympic White, CBGM0434 and CAGM0434 in Canada, BGM0434 and AGM0434 in the US. Arctic White is a different line, code 10 / WA # 9567, CBGM0153 and CAGM0153. Two GM whites, two part numbers. The WA number is a useful second check.
Example 4: Chrysler Bright White and a printing inconsistency
Chrysler's GW7/PW7 Bright White has Perfect Match CBCC0362 in every year from 2014 to 2020. The Scratch Fix column, however, reads CACC0362 for 2014 to 2016 and CACC3062 for 2017 to 2020. The US site lists the pen as ACC0362, Bright White, and we found no CACC3062 anywhere else in the guide. The 2017-2020 entry may be a transposition, but the guide does not say so. If you shop in Canada, confirm this one with Dupli-Color (the guide lists 800-247-3270) or the retailer's own lookup before you buy.
Errors and mismatches in Dupli-Color's own listings
Official does not mean flawless. Comparing the US data sheets with the Canadian guide, we found these inconsistencies. None of them is a reason to distrust the chart as a whole. They are reasons to match on the paint code and to read the color name next to any part number before you order.
| Number(s) | What the listings say | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| BFM0415 vs AFM0415 | US Perfect Match data sheet: "Tuxedo Black Metallic." US Scratch Fix data sheet: "Ruby Red." The Canadian guide lists Ford Ruby Red (RR) as CAFM0415 and Tuxedo Black (UH) as CAFM0412. | Same color number, two different colors across product lines on the US site |
| BFM0340 vs AFM0340 | US Perfect Match: "Royal Blue." US Scratch Fix: "Royal White." The Canadian guide lists code KM, Royal Blue, as CBFM0340 and CAFM0340. | "Royal White" is most likely a typo, but only Dupli-Color can confirm it |
| CACC3062 vs CACC0362 | Canadian guide, Chrysler Bright White (GW7, PW7): Scratch Fix CACC3062 in 2017 to 2020, CACC0362 in 2014 to 2016. US site: ACC0362 Bright White. | A possible transposition in the PDF; confirm before ordering in Canada |
| BCC0419 vs ACC0419 | US Perfect Match: "Flame Red." US Scratch Fix: "Poppy Red/Flame Red." Canadian guide: PR4 Flame Red. | Name differs, number and code agree; match on code PR4 |
| Several | Names drift slightly between documents: "Magnetic (M)" vs "Magnetic Gray," "Ingot Silver (M)" vs "Ingot Silver Metallic," "SIlver (M)" for Nissan BNS0601 where the guide says "Brilliant Silver (M)." | Search by code and number, not by exact name |
Compared on October 31, 2026: duplicolor.com Perfect Match and Scratch Fix All-in-1 data sheet tables vs the 2021 Classic Selector Guide (Canada).
The Ford 0415 case is the one most likely to cause a wrong purchase. If you assumed the pen and the can always share a number, you could order a red pen for a black truck. The general problem of names drifting between documents is covered in our article on paint code vs color name, and the wider question of how far any lookup tool can be trusted is in are paint code lookup sites accurate.
Older Dupli-Color charts with DS, NGSF and T numbers
If you have an older printed guide, or found the "Dupli-Color Automotive Paint & Coatings Guide" PDF that the retailer CARiD still hosts (its file metadata is dated 2018), you will see a different numbering system. That guide explains its own columns:
- "NGSF" numbers in the Scratch-Fix column mean the color "is available from Dupli-Color in a 1/2 oz. Scratch-Fix tube" for domestic colors. For import colors the number starts with a maker abbreviation instead: "HA – Honda, MZ – Mazda, MT – Mitsubishi, NS – Nissan, SU – Subaru, TY – Toyota, VW – Volkswagen."
- "A DS or 88 number" means a 5 oz. Auto Spray, where "'DS' indicates domestic; '88' indicates import."
- A "T" number means an 11 oz. Truck, Van and SUV Spray.
The current touch-up lineup on duplicolor.com lists the 8 oz Perfect Match aerosol and the 0.5 fl oz Scratch Fix All-in-1 pen rather than those formats. Treat the older guide as a historical document. It is useful for identifying an old can you already own, but don't use it to order current products. We have not reproduced its part numbers here.
Not the same Dupli-Color: the European COLORCARD PDF
A PDF titled "DUPLI-COLOR COLORCARD" ranks well for this search, and it is a different thing entirely. It is published by European Aerosols, which describes DUPLI-COLOR as one of its brands and says the company was called the MOTIP DUPLI Group until it was renamed on 1 November 2021. The COLORCARD is organized by RAL color numbers for decorative and general-purpose sprays (its COLOR ALL SEASON range, for example, lists RAL shades in 400 ml cans), with European article numbers. It does not list vehicle paint codes, and its numbers do not correspond to the North American Perfect Match or Scratch Fix numbers. If your goal is to match a car's factory color in North America, use the North American guide or duplicolor.com.
When your color is not in the chart
The Canadian guide stops at 2020 models, and the US product tables hold a standard lineup of fewer than 200 colors per product. If your code is missing, work through these options in order.
- Check duplicolor.com's color finder by year, make and model, since it is updated separately from the 2021 PDF.
- Ask about the special-order program for Scratch Fix All-in-1 at an automotive retailer, which Dupli-Color says covers more exact-match colors.
- Use a universal color only where an exact match is not needed. The Universal Touch Up Pen comes in nine listed versions (BUNX910 to BUNX919), including Universal White, Universal Black, Universal Silver and Clear. These are not factory color matches.
- Be cautious with three-stage colors. Some factory finishes, such as Ford's White Platinum, which the guide lists as "White Platinum Tricoat" in some years, are built in layers and are harder to touch up. Our explainer on what tri-coat paint means covers why.
- For larger damage or older, faded paint, ask a body shop. A chart maps a code to a factory standard. It cannot know how your paint has aged or whether a panel was resprayed.
Application basics from Dupli-Color's directions
Once the chart has given you a part number, follow the directions for that product. Dupli-Color's US product pages include these points, summarized here. The label on your product comes first.
- Prep (Perfect Match): wipe the area with rubbing alcohol or grease and wax remover, "lightly sand surface with a scuff pad or 600-grit sandpaper," and wipe again. If bare metal shows, Dupli-Color directs you to its Scratch Filler Primer before the color coat.
- Spraying (Perfect Match): shake "for one full minute after mixing ball moves freely," hold the can "8-10 inches from the surface," apply light coats, and "allow paint to dry 10 minutes between coats and 30 minutes before handling." The page's directions say "2-3 LIGHT COATS," while its specification panel lists "3, 4 coats." Build up thin coats until coverage is even rather than aiming for a fixed count.
- Pen (Scratch Fix All-in-1): clean with rubbing alcohol or Dupli-Color Prep Wipe (PW100), use the abrasive prep tip to remove loose paint and rust, paint with the pen or brush, then apply the built-in clear. "Allow 30 minutes dry time for any additional coats."
- Conditions (both): "Use at temperatures between 60 °F (16°C) and 95°F (35°C) and when humidity is low."
Frequently asked questions
Where can I download the Dupli-Color paint chart PDF?
The current official PDF linked from duplicolor.com is the 2021 Dupli-Color Classic Selector Guide for Canada, a 44-page guide covering 2020 back to 2010-and-earlier models. US shoppers are directed to the color finder on duplicolor.com, and the US product pages list every part number in their data sheet tables.
How do I find my Dupli-Color color by paint code?
Find the paint code on your vehicle's identification tag, open your manufacturer's pages in the guide's part number section, find your model year and code, and read across to the Perfect Match (aerosol) or Scratch Fix All-in-1 (pen) column.
What does the B or A at the start of a Dupli-Color part number mean?
On duplicolor.com, every Perfect Match aerosol number starts with B and every Scratch Fix All-in-1 pen number starts with A, followed by a two-letter maker code such as FM for Ford. The Canadian guide uses CB and CA for the same two columns.
Is the Dupli-Color part number the same for the pen and the spray can?
Usually the four-digit color number is shared, for example BFM0229 and AFM0229 are both Oxford White. But not always: on the US site BFM0415 is listed as Tuxedo Black Metallic while AFM0415 is Ruby Red. Always check the color name next to the number.
Why isn't my color in the Dupli-Color chart?
The PDF guide stops at 2020 models, and the standard US lineup is 192 Perfect Match and 159 Scratch Fix colors. Check the online color finder, ask a retailer about Dupli-Color's special-order Scratch Fix program, or use a body shop for colors that are not offered.
What is the WA number in the Dupli-Color chart?
It appears only on General Motors pages. Dupli-Color's older guide describes it as part of the manufacturer's color code for GM vehicles only. For example, Olympic White is code 50 with WA 8624.
Is the European DUPLI-COLOR COLORCARD the same chart?
No. It is published by European Aerosols, lists RAL-numbered decorative colors with European article numbers, and does not cover vehicle paint codes.
Does (M) in a Dupli-Color color name mean metallic?
The guide does not print a legend, but the US data sheet lists Universal Black BUN0090, the can that matches the guide's "Univ. Black (M)" line, with a Metallic finish, which is consistent with (M) marking metallic colors.
